If you’re in the UK and looking for affordable burgers without cutting down on standards, Honest Burgers is definitely on the top of your list. Honest Burgers is a British burger restaurant. They aim to make everything that they can themselves and they even have their own butchery. Hear that?! Don’t we all love a dedicated restaurant. They also serve a range of burger options to fit the need for any diet and allergies, from vegan to halal and EVEN GLUTEN-FREE options.
So let’s begin the burger treat!
Looking at the menu, we gotta get something smashingly delicious😏. How could we let it off when seeing ‘Smashed’ burger on the list. Of course, us being a little hungry ordered a Double Smashed with added bacon and their ‘signature’ Rosemary salted chips. Hmm hmm…
The Sight
Served on a plate surrounded by a sea of Rosemary Salted Chips. The burger bun is full, slightly on the tan side with a shiny outer. You can see the double layered beef patty clearly with the flowy mustard mayo and American cheese just oozing out of it. What a sight!
The Smell
Let’s just say it was cold and our nose ain’t working quite well. So cut us some slack on the smell wise. Hahaha 😅
The Sound
Burger is burger. Sound wise not quite. But gotta say the Rosemary Salted Chips were crispy, especially the smaller bits. It’s the crispness of potato chips but in the form of fries.
The Taste
The burger is a little too big for our small hands to be hand-held. So we ate it with a fork and knife. Classic table manners we might say🤣. The burger bun may look big and overpowering but it doesn’t steal the show of the beef patty and cheese at all. The beef patty is grilled in such a way that the outsides have some burnt bits but the insides are juicy and tender. The mustard mayo just adds a tad bit of moisture and sweetness to the whole thing. The fresh and crisp pickles added a refreshing sour taste to the burger. However, there wasn’t a lot of it. The bacon was unlike the usual crispy, slightly hard to bite type of bacon. Instead, it’s quite juicy with the natural oils of the bacon itself. Texture wise is rather meaty and ‘soft’ which blends in well with the beef patty and easily goes unnoticeable. However, there wasn’t a lot of it. Rosemary Salted Chips has just the right amount of salt which makes it quite addictive. Definitely a hearty meal of a classic burger beef burger.
The Verdict
Honest Burgers is definitely honest to a fault. So fresh, so juicy and so addictive. Anyone who is in the UK has to try it and we’re definitely going to head there again to try the other burgers.
