Review: White Rabbit Milk Tea

Can't get enough of the White Rabbit revival?! Here we are - taking you on a jaunt with the White Rabbit Milk Tea 🧋

After reviewing the satisfyingly tasteful White Rabbit Ice Cream a few months back, we saw the White Rabbit Milk Tea in the market and couldn’t stop ourselves from getting one. There’re currently 4 different White Rabbit Milk Tea flavours sold in Singapore - Sea Salt and Cheese, Peach Oolong Tea, French-style Milk Tea and the Genki Black Tea.

As much as we wanted to review all four, we only managed to write one and you’ll find out why later. So let’s dive right into it!

The Sight

The White Rabbit Milk Tea is packaged in a big white paper cup with a black lid on it. When we opened it, there were various condiments and some unlabelled bags. There’s a packet of condensed milk, a small circular package, a tea bag and a yellow bag. There’s some transparent liquid inside the circular packaging, we thought it was syrup or sugar. But when we tasted it, it didn't taste much of anything. The yellow bag hides the secret formula of the White Rabbit Milk Tea. It smells just like it, except much more intense.

So we just followed the instructions on the packaging, dump everything in and pour some hot water.

The Smell

As we waited, the liquid slowly changed from a dilute brown to a darker one that looks more like milk tea. If we were to sniff closely, there’s the classic scent of White Rabbit products!

The Taste

It tastes exactly like the White Rabbit candy except for the very subtle tea fragrance. Very sweet, milky flavour but at the same time diluted in a sense. Maybe it’s because the ‘strong’ taste doesn’t quite match up with the water visual. Usually, you’ll expect something that tastes milky to have a slightly denser texture.

The Verdict

Time for the grand finale. Compared to the White Rabbit Ice Cream, the White Rabbit Milk Tea was a bumper. The taste of White Rabbit overpowered the tea and didn't leave much of an impression. Try once and move on.
