Editors' Pick: Saizeriya

To kickstart our “Editors’ Pick” column, we’ll be introducing our top favourites from Saizeriya. For those who are not familiar with it, Saizeriya is a Japanese chain, family-style Italian restaurant. Known for its budget Italian food, Saizeriya is particularly popular with families and youths.

Here’s our list of must-trys if you haven’t at Saizeriya:

1. Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese (S$3.90)

Putting a huge cheese ball in your mouth might seem daunting but since it is a mild cheese, you don’t have to be a cheese fanatic to enjoy it.

2. Sautéed Spinach with Bacon (S$2.90)

Light on the palate with a tinge of saltiness from the bacon — appetising.

3. Oven Grilled Escargots (S$5.90)

Slight chewy texture seasoned with garlic butter and sautéed onions.

4.Original Focaccia (S$1.90)

Flat leavened oven-baked Italian bread — you can have it on its own, dip it in your soup or pair it with the flavourful escargots.

5. Squid Ink Pasta (S$5.90)

Alone, squid ink has a neutral taste. But together with the squid, it forms a refreshing and light dish that you won’t ever have too much of.

6. Bacon & Mushroom Risotto (S$5.90)

A flavourful outburst of creaminess and saltiness from the bacon.

7. Margherita (S$7.90)

A definite go-to-choice for all cheese lovers — cheesy and savoury.

Make sure you try our recommended dishes on your next visit to Saizeriya if you haven’t. And don’t forget to let us know what you think of our picks from Saizeriya!

Disclaimer: We’re not Italians nor have we tried enough Italian food to decide if Saizeriya’s food is truly the taste of Italy. Just our personal opinion and top favourites that might change the way you view Saizeriya.
